I have blue eyes, light skin, and plain brown hair.
For the summer, I'm dying my hair dark dark brown, and I'm also going tanning.
Will blue eyes look dumb with that combination? Like, will I look fake? Haha, I really don't want to go for the blonde look, I really want darker hair. If anyone has blue eyes, dark hair, and tanned skin, please tell me how it looks. It would be nice if you could post a picture of you, or even a celebrity who looks like that, just so I could get a visual opinion on it. That will look amazing! I have blue eyes and I always change my hair color and everytime I die it dark brown, people say it makes my eyes ';pop'; and they look bluer. When you go tanning it will make eyes look even bluer too and dark hair looks so good on tan skin. Here are some pics:

Not that it would be pretty to accentuate your dark circles, but it actually might make your eyes appear bigger. At the very least, it will make your eye AREA seem larger, since the area under your eyes will appear to be framing your eyes as opposed to being part of your cheeks.
My favorite way to make my eyes look larger is to line the bottom inner rim with white eyeliner. It really makes me look wide awake and bright-eyed! [I cover up any circles when I do this :)]Does having dark circles under your eyes make your eyes look bigger?

a little sleeplessness can be sexy, but to much is not.

for nighttime concentrate on colored mascara and use the mascara under 1/3 of the eyes and smudge it...use some wild jazzy color for your midtone and a deep colorful shade for the outer-third semicircle from lid to crease...

ok this is how i do it
First- always put eyeshadow on so put a lighter eyeshadow on your crease area then on the sides of your eye add a dark shadow
Second apply eyeliner on the top of your eye
curl your lashes then add mascara its really as easy as that:) hope i helped
You want to make sure colors are blended together flawlessly. Also, it's important to pair light base colors with rich dark colors. Nice mixes include: Soft gold base with deep purple on top, champagne base with bright blue and peach base with green hue.
It depends on the darkness you want on your eyes, but what usually works is take an eyeliner and put it on both the bottom and the top. then take a grey eyeshadow, and gently put it on your top eyelid, make it cover the eyeliner then use a blending brush. put mascara on and your set
go for three colors and 2 good brushes..... a light grey black and a light color for your brow highlight (or browns). put the light grey on your whole lid almost to your eyebrow. put the darkest color in the crease and blend with a good brush. put the brow highlight on last with the second brush. sonia kashuk from target makes good cheap brushes. remember blending is key.
Black and gray eyeshadow make it blend but do not mix them either start off on the inner side with the gray then fade black or vice versa. if thats too dark try gray and white. but make sure you do a fade to look smoky.
Start smoking..
Sit next to a camp fire and waite for the wind to blow the smoke in to your eyes.

ok this is how i do it
First- always put eyeshadow on so put a lighter eyeshadow on your crease area then on the sides of your eye add a dark shadow
Second apply eyeliner on the top of your eye

You want to make sure colors are blended together flawlessly. Also, it's important to pair light base colors with rich dark colors. Nice mixes include: Soft gold base with deep purple on top, champagne base with bright blue and peach base with green hue.
It depends on the darkness you want on your eyes, but what usually works is take an eyeliner and put it on both the bottom and the top. then take a grey eyeshadow, and gently put it on your top eyelid, make it cover the eyeliner then use a blending brush. put mascara on and your set
go for three colors and 2 good brushes..... a light grey black and a light color for your brow highlight (or browns). put the light grey on your whole lid almost to your eyebrow. put the darkest color in the crease and blend with a good brush. put the brow highlight on last with the second brush. sonia kashuk from target makes good cheap brushes. remember blending is key.
Black and gray eyeshadow make it blend but do not mix them either start off on the inner side with the gray then fade black or vice versa. if thats too dark try gray and white. but make sure you do a fade to look smoky.

I don't know if this is for you you but a number of times i have purchased eye glue usually used by Asians, use to make their eyes look bigger. It makes your skin folds behind your eyes way bigger and stay almost all day. You can apply make up over the top.
You should use a brown color and NO black eyeliner.
Black liner makes the eyes look smaller. -nods-
Use dark brown on the top lid.

For an everyday look, everyone knows that just a wash of neutral colour on the lids (like a brown or cream colour), a little bit of mascara and eyeliner, and you're done.
For something more fun, you can play around with bright eyeshadows, too. Pretty much any colour looks great with brown eyes, and darker blues are great with lighter blue eyes and purple is great with green eyes. I think metallic shades are awesome.
Also, with shadow, You can add just one splash of colour, or blend others with it, either side to side or up and down your lid. It's a good idea to blend shadows on your hand first to see if they look well together. ALSO, you can also do a smokey eye with colour - you can pretty much blend anything with black, so it's good to experiment.
If you just want something simple and want your eyes to pop, then lining with a subtle coloured liner can be good too. I've already mentioned the some colours before. Like I have really dark brown eyes and I love lining it with a purple liner if I don't have enough time to do anything more, and it always looks great. Or even just regular black or brown eyeliner can be stunning! Then you can just finish off with a highlight in the inside corners of your eyes and just under your brows to make your eyes look bigger.
So yeah, colour can be fun! Just don't overdo it so you won't look like a clown (like if you play up your eyes, keep everything else neutral. You don't need to do a bright red lipstick! But I'm sure you knew that)

I have the same issue. Try this: big, funky frames + ask to get thinner lenses. More substantial frames will draw attention to your eyes and leave some visual space around them vs. small wire frames which make your eyes and frames kind of blend together visually.
The thinner lenses (which cost extra -- ask at the store) should help to decrease the distortion which you get with the standard thick lenses that usually accompany a near-sighted prescription. You can also get the anti-glare coating for lenses, which will reduce reflections and make your eyes more visible.
Most nearsight Rx or minus, will cause eyes to appear smaller. Newer aspheric lenses will reduce this effect slightly.
Pick smaller frames. Comapared to your eyes they will look samll making your eyes look big.
You need to ask for a Hi Index material- which is thinner and flatter to diminish the smaller, beady eyed look. Also use a amller frame if at all possible, because that will help with the thicknees of the lenses as well. I just want to be honest and say that i think girls with big round eyes are gorgeous! i have biggish eyes, but i would like them to be bigger because they make a girls face look so pretty i think, especially with long lashes and a dark mascara. but besides that, the only thing you can do to make ur eyes appear smaller is add a dark eye liner on the insides and outsides of both the top and bottom of ur eye lids and lower eyes. Pluck your eyebrows thicker on the inside and gradually thinner on the outside. Put a dark brown that matches your skin tone on your upper eyelids working with the shape of the eyebrow. Put more on the outer edge. Don't use light eyeshadow on your bottom lids, stay with the same color. If you do use light, do it on your brow line only. Use a stencil liner on your upper eyes going from one corner to another. Be sure to extend out at your outer corners doing a cat eye/cleopatra kind of thing. I just want to be honest and say that i think girls with big round eyes are gorgeous! i have biggish eyes, but i would like them to be bigger because they make a girls face look so pretty i think, especially with long lashes and a dark mascara. but besides that, the only thing you can do to make ur eyes appear smaller is add a dark eye liner on the insides and outsides of both the top and bottom of ur eye lids and lower eyes. There are two ways to accentuate beauteous blue-eyed girls like ourselves:
1) Line inside the lashes with a black liner, wear black mascara, and dark brown (or dark rose) eye shadow past your crease. This look is more dramatic and is better for night.
2) Now for the day look- line outside the lashes with a dark brown or metallic grey liner, wear dark brown or soft black mascara, and pink or ANY shade of brown for eyeshadow.
Peachy and earthy tones look great by blue eyes, so stick to browns and pinks for maximum pop, but don't limit yourself- I like to wear purple shadow sometimes, even though it's not a blue-eye accentuator. Have fun and experiment!
well if you're like me and pale with blue eyes, i'd suggest:
foundation - optional, this depends if you consider that a part of a big makeup routine
then a small dash of rose coloured blusher, going upwards along your cheekbone
dont use a shadow as no matter what colour, will usually give a sunken affect.
then outline your eyes with a black liner, quite heavily along the upper lid and lower lid
after that a couple of coats of black mascara and your eyes shall look beautifully big! (:
if your tanned then stay similar but use a bronzer or darker pink blush.
another tip, if you have hair that falls into your face, clip it too the side, it'll help increase appearance of your eye size.

its called Wet n wild ultimate expressions and the pack of eyeshadow is about 3x3 inches.
use a little bit of brown eyeliner on the outside of your top eyelashes and put a little bit of this white eyeshadow on the very inside corner of your eyes closest to your bridge of your nose. this makes your eye color pop. use the light pink shade that is at the top right of the pallette over your whole eye from brow to lashes, then dust a little of the dark gold in the sunken in crease part of the eye above your eyeball from the middle of your eye to the outside corner in a line. then dust the gold over your entire lid. you can use different combos of shades that come in this make up pallette just as long as you have the lightest color right under your brow, then the darkest in the crease, then a mid color on your lid. blend them all together to where you dont have lines in between each color. use a brown mascara.
the almay color collection would look great. blue and brown shadows are good for pop-y blue eyes, but blue shadows are best (sephora.com). blue-tinted mascara (almay.com) really makes the blue pop. and to finish off, try some light-blue liner or the top lids. maybe blue liquid liner, if u want it to be bold. but white eyeliner pencils will definatly make your eyes pop. put some on your top lid. of course blue makeup makes blue eyes stand out.

I don't like to spend a lot of time on make up but I want my eyes to pop, so here are a few things I do...
Definitely apply white shadow just below your brow bone. (then natural shades on the rest)
Applying liner to only the upper lid will make your eyes look bigger.
Curl your lashes, and apply a good mascara.
...Works for me, I get compliments on my eyes all the time! :)

brown is not the opposing color to blue. Orange is. I'm sure you dont want to wear orange eye shadow but if you go with a warmer brown (one that contains more red or orange undertones) rather than a cool brown (one containing more green undertones) the color should pop.
also when applying concealer do not swipe the entire length of your under eye. this will shorten the visual width of your eyes. Only apply part of the way.

OK so i have the same situation. i have big blue eyes, and whenever i want to make them look bigger and brighter, i use gold eyeshadow. mac has a great color called gold mine, and gold is huge in makeup this year. if you use a good black eyeliner and mascara then your eyes can literally look turquoise. its incredible! hope this helped

well if you're like me and pale with blue eyes, i'd suggest:

then a small dash of rose coloured blusher, going upwards along your cheekbone
dont use a shadow as no matter what colour, will usually give a sunken affect.
then outline your eyes with a black liner, quite heavily along the upper lid and lower lid
after that a couple of coats of black mascara and your eyes shall look beautifully big! (:
if your tanned then stay similar but use a bronzer or darker pink blush.
another tip, if you have hair that falls into your face, clip it too the side, it'll help increase appearance of your eye size.
as a general rule, those with blue eyes should look for eye makeup in gray, violet, taupe, purple, and deep blue. you could also try using a dark shade of blue will actually bring out the more natural blue tones in your eyes; giving you a brighter and more vibrant look.

its called Wet n wild ultimate expressions and the pack of eyeshadow is about 3x3 inches.
use a little bit of brown eyeliner on the outside of your top eyelashes and put a little bit of this white eyeshadow on the very inside corner of your eyes closest to your bridge of your nose. this makes your eye color pop. use the light pink shade that is at the top right of the pallette over your whole eye from brow to lashes, then dust a little of the dark gold in the sunken in crease part of the eye above your eyeball from the middle of your eye to the outside corner in a line. then dust the gold over your entire lid. you can use different combos of shades that come in this make up pallette just as long as you have the lightest color right under your brow, then the darkest in the crease, then a mid color on your lid. blend them all together to where you dont have lines in between each color. use a brown mascara.
the almay color collection would look great. blue and brown shadows are good for pop-y blue eyes, but blue shadows are best (sephora.com). blue-tinted mascara (almay.com) really makes the blue pop. and to finish off, try some light-blue liner or the top lids. maybe blue liquid liner, if u want it to be bold. but white eyeliner pencils will definatly make your eyes pop. put some on your top lid. of course blue makeup makes blue eyes stand out.

I don't like to spend a lot of time on make up but I want my eyes to pop, so here are a few things I do...
Definitely apply white shadow just below your brow bone. (then natural shades on the rest)
Applying liner to only the upper lid will make your eyes look bigger.
Curl your lashes, and apply a good mascara.
...Works for me, I get compliments on my eyes all the time! :)

brown is not the opposing color to blue. Orange is. I'm sure you dont want to wear orange eye shadow but if you go with a warmer brown (one that contains more red or orange undertones) rather than a cool brown (one containing more green undertones) the color should pop.
also when applying concealer do not swipe the entire length of your under eye. this will shorten the visual width of your eyes. Only apply part of the way.

OK so i have the same situation. i have big blue eyes, and whenever i want to make them look bigger and brighter, i use gold eyeshadow. mac has a great color called gold mine, and gold is huge in makeup this year. if you use a good black eyeliner and mascara then your eyes can literally look turquoise. its incredible! hope this helped

Well , I have blue eyes and to define and bring out my eyes , I use browns .I use eyeshdow on my whole lid in a neutral tone . Then I take a medium brown shade and use it as a crease color( not too heavy) Blend well...I will then take the darkest Brown shade and use it on the far corners of my eyes... Blend well.. Rule of thumb: If you want the look of bigger eyes , do not line the bottom of your eyes and do not take liner all the way across on the top.It closes the eye...Start at about 1/4 of the way on the eyelid and use small lines .. Big dramatic lines will not make them look bigger..
As for colors...Browns are awesome with blue eyes.. I also use a
shade that is like a deep rich plum shade with a white matte color but I only use it on the corners of my eyes to get that smoky look...
Mascaras in my opinion should be Black.. As black as you can find... Maybelline makes one that is waterproof but when you shower, it comes off easily... Awesome product..
Another trick when I was younger was , I went out and bought one of those like 100+ eyeshadow kits and just played around with the colors until I found what was good for me...
Right now, These eyeshadow kits are everywhere for a reasonable price( to me its the best way to find out plus you can play with the colors to get other looks) Once you have the look you want, you can spend alittle more on better quality shades...
Liners are ok in color but I would stick to basic colors 1st like, brown and black.. Later try the deep purple and maybe a turqoise shade that also looks good...

I too have green eyes and the trick is using colors that fall opposite on the color wheel. I use alot of coppers, cranberries, plums and oranges if I want that green color to explode. I find that MAC has a great selection for my eye color. Some colors I like to use:
Great for every day- Paradisco shadow on the lid, Mythology in the crease and then Teddy liner smudged into the lash line
Another easy day look- Honey Lust on the lid and Haux in the crease. Use a plum or cranberry toned liner.

As long as you got it in a psychologically healthy way (i.e. as a sport injury or accident rather than being someone's codependent punching bag), you may find that it attracts some uncommon and interesting flirtation, if you can play it up with good humor and no shame. Just go for it!
After all, you spend over 99.9% of your life without a black eye, so you might as well have fun with it while you've got it.

Apply a thin line of eyeliner to the top and insted of lining your whole bottom line, just do half way in from the middle to the outside of your eye.(not too much! we don't want it too too harsh) Blast your hairdryer over your curler, curl your lashes, and apply mascara carefully, clumpy lashes aren't so attractive. You can also add white eyeliner to the bottom line to make eyes really pop. Or add it to your tear ducts. Good luck doll(:
Super bright white eyeshadow and brown liner always makes my brown eyes pop. Also, you could try purple, emerald green and really, really glittery gold and copper eyeliner. Always use colors that have jewel-names because they will make brown eyes pop. Good Luck!
purple and green eyeshadows look really pretty with brown or hazel eyes. i would put maybe a little bit of eyeliner, mascara, and some light earthy green eyeshadow. i would go to the makeup counter at like dillards and ask them how to make your eyes pop out. they will tell you and give you a makeover if you ask. then you can just go out and buy the same colors of makeup they suggested for you yourself that way its cheaper,
I use Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Smokey Eyes shadow, which you can get at just about any drug or discount store. My brown eyes look bigger and brighter with this. I also use a lengthening mascara and a plum eyeliner.
I use brown eyeliner halfway over the top of the eyelashes. Then I use a light pink with extra shimmer in it from the corner of the eye going lighter towards the outside on top of the liner, just on the lid. And black or brown mascara.
