Why is it when you take a picture of the sun, you can look at it, but you can't look at the sun with your eye?
I know the camera reduces the glare, but isn't that changing the image?Why is it when you take a picture of the sun, you can look at it, but you can't look at the sun with your eye?
A camera only captures the light, that is shown on it. So when you look at apicture of the sun, you are just looking at a white dot because of all of the light shown through the lense. When you look at the sun, you aren't just seeing light's reflection, you are seeing the light's source and it burns your eye. Which is what happens when you look at a lightbulb for too long and you get that red/black shadow when you turn away. try the ';honey lust'; in MAC eyeshadow.
or earth shimmer duo in revlon eyeshadow.

and brown or black eyeliner. not too much. i use estee lauder eyeliner in soft smudge black.
apply the eyeshadow on your eyelid and on your brow bone because this shadow is not too dark and is very natural and a warm glowing color. basically your whole eye, but don't go crazy because this eyeshadow is metallic.
line with the eyeliner close to the lashes with a brown or black eyeliner. make a thin line, and again, don't go overboard. put a little bit of mascara and your done.
if you'd like, touch up your face with bronzer.

You can use almost any brand, I like MAC myself but thats a bit spendy.
The shadow looks shimmery/metallic. Its a light silver shadow which is applied on the brow bone. Where your crease is is a darker brown (although you can use reallya ny color, purple, green, whatever you want) which is at the crease and then extended upward. The lid itself is covered with a light colored shadow which you cant really see in the pic, but in this case it is probably a light brown. You may need to adjust where the color goes depending on your eyes.
Then just eyeliner and mascara as usual. Take the darker brown and line the bottom of your eye, kind of following the eyeliner.
You'd be fine with regular eyeshadow but a cream eyeshadow would also work well with this. O ya did i mention you need good brushes? You can pile the stuff on (cuz the color is very striking, more opaque than a wash) with a regular sponge tip applicator, but to make it look nice you need to blend everything, and you need a brush for that.
She just has a lot of luminizer on (try red earth's recret potion) and any dark brown liner all around the eye. She has a gold eyeshadow on and try a dark brown eyeshadow in the crease too.asp hosting

Early (as i began to acquaint myself with Chinese people) I thought denying her physical attractiveness was she being modest (sometimes it is), but often the female would begin to criticize herself in ways which lead me to believe she spent plenty of time thinking about it and believed it to be true. Chinese males often would explain a litany of flaws in many of the Chinese females I found attractive (almost always I will mention she is superior in appearance to any European women, 9/10 times I will be called crazy), and later would hear the same Chinese females whom were being criticized by the males echo the same things (even if she did not hear the conversation between I and the Chinese males). Many of the criticisms were about eyes being too small, noses being to large or flat, faces too round or flat, being too fat, skin too dark (least common criticism) or being too short, shape of the rear, or certain parts were too small. Females would hear this stuff all of their lives and eventually would begin to believe it themselves. European females are opposite to many of the criticisms which are made about Chinese females. Perhaps in an attempt to change some of the criticism into praise a few feel the need to alter their appearance to be more similar to the European women.
I can not understand except an explanation must include cultural conditioning these females get, why any would want to change the shape of their eyelids color of their hair, noses or any of it, all these features is what makes them beautiful, I say leave it as nature made it.
Black hair complements the beauty inherent in the Chinese (and other Mongoloid races) eyes. Black hair + dark brown eyes + the classical Mongoloid shaped eye is best in my opinion.

Sometimes if I pull too many all-nighters, or get only 4-5 hours a night my eyes get bloodshot, or just a little bit duller than they should be.
I rinse them out with water every morning and night, and try not to get less than 7 hours. Good luck!

You obviously can copy the black eye with facepaint, I'm not so sure about the teeth, but you may be able to get a joke set of teeth, like vampire fangs etc, that make it look like you've lost yours? I'm not saying it's perfect, but it'll do for Hallowe'en right? (And I have no clue what she's saying as I have no speakers lol).

I have the same problem, I use eye shadow with a thin brush on the bottom of my eye right above the eyelash line - so it's almost inside the lid of my eye. Don't put any underneath the eyelash line and you can do the top of your eyes normally, with some eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow.

It has to do with the fact that the bull's eye was round in shape. The eye portion that you were looking through was a convex shape. It's kind of like a magnifying glass.

Put eyeliner on top of your eyleid only! but when you do sorda extend it a little bit to the end to look like you have a bigger eye. My mother does it and it looks beautifull. How do you get the smokey eye look?
heres how i do mine:
1. Use a light (skin toned) colour all over the eye- lashes to brow.
2. Use a black eyeliner and use just above the lashes- doesn鈥檛 matter too much if it鈥榮 a bit messy.
3. Use a cotton bud with a dark eyeshadow on it and go over the eyeliner- making it smudgy.
4. Line under the bottom lashes with a pencil eyeliner and smudge using a clean cotton bud.
5. Use a middle toned eyeshadow (an in-between colour of the ones using) and go over the lid of your eye and just up to the brow bone or just above the crease- which ever you like better.
6. Blend or smudge the middle colour upwards into the lighter colour- just the top edge of the middle colour so you still have colour on your lid.
7. Use mascara- and don鈥檛 forget eyelash curler first- apply mascara to the bottom aswell-if you want.How do you get the smokey eye look?

to make your eyes look bigger its best to place the eyeliner on top of your eyelashes. make a line right above the eyelashes. like the egyptians used to do.
for eye shadow, you could shade it certain areas to make the color come out more or to just make them more noticeable.
This question is my forte. Apply all your base make up first, concealer/foundation/powder or whatever you use. I don't know the color of your eyes, so the color of eye shadow depends on that. With that said:
1) Take a light eyeshadow (I use a cream color- like off white) and apply it to your eye lid as usual. Then apply the same color along your bottom lid.
2) Then take her eye liner and line the top- make the line thicker on the outside of your eye and draw it thinner as you go in towards your nose. Do the same for the bottom. Slightly thicker on the outsides and thinner as you go in (Best if you don't even apply eye liner to your ENTIRE bottom lid, instead start on the outsides and stop when your 2/3rds of the way in.)
3) Then take a darker eye shadow and apply it to the crease of your eye lid. This adds depth.
4) Add mascara and you're done!
This might seem overly long and complicated, but it takes me no more than 5 minutes to do. I get comments about my eyes almost daily and people have stopped me several times and asked me how to do eye make up.
If you have blonde hair/blue eyes use a light gold for the base eye shadow and a brown for the darker shade. Brown eye liner is the best. These colors make blue eyes really pop!
For brown hair/ brown eyes. Stick with neutral colors. Like a white or cream base and dark brown for the crease. (Hazel eyes look best if you use a plum color in the crease. It will bring out all the green specks, but it can be hard to make it look right for somewho doesn't use make up alot).
Tip: Never use the eye shadow applicator that comes with eye shadows! It will look to heavy and not blended at all. Use a bristle eye shadow brush always, your make up will blended. And stay clear of eye shadows that are shimmery! It looks cheap and only works SOMETIMES if you're really tan. Matted colors are the best 9 out of 10 times.
What I do is I put white eyeliner on the inner corners of my eyes and I only line the bottom half of my eye in black.
Just line the top only with black liner and black mascara only on top lashes. Lining both top and bottom tends to make eyes look smaller.
wear black eyeshadow. or dark grey. just make sure to put on eyeliner first, then take a brush and sort of close your eye but sweep the brush with black eyeshadow across your crevice where the bone ends and your eyeball begins. i really suck at describing things but i've done this for years and it really works. also, if you put white eyeshadow or something on top of the eyeliner line, it will make them look HUGE
The key to making your eyes look bigger is to line them on top, not underneath!
Your best bet is to use a liquid eyeliner and draw it as thin as possible. For eye shadow, you should use a darker shade of eyeshadow in the crease. The darker shade should complement and flow together with the shade you have on most of your eyelid. The darker color will give your eyes more depth. Good luck!
BRING OUT THE WHITES OF YOUR EYES. Draw a fine line with eyeliner along the upper lash line for definition. Line lower lids with a nude or very light color liner to make the whites of your eyes brighter and open them up. Curl lashes, add mascara and comb to separate for the maximum eyeopening effect.
Eyeliner can make even the smallest eyes appear larger. Applying it correctly is key, you don't want the line to be too dark, harsh and obvious or you risk looking overdone.
To make eyes appear wider, trace the inner rims of eyes with a white pencil.
Choose an eyeliner appropriate for your eye color. Brown, navy and charcoal accent light eyes well, while brown and plum shades flatter brown eyes. Make sure your liner complements the color of your shadow.
Consider the type of look you're after. Pencil eyeliner gives your eyes soft definition, while liquid versions offer precision and drama. You can also moisten dark eye shadow and apply it with a small, flat brush.
Draw a line across the upper lid just above the lashes, from the inside corner to the outside corner of the eye. If you're using liquid liner, allow it to dry before opening your eyes all the way, or the color may transfer into the crease of your eye.
Line the lower lids. Moving from the outside edge inward, draw a line on the outer two-thirds of the lid or more, depending on the look you're going for. Your line should be slightly thicker at the outside corner, becoming thinner as it moves in toward your nose. Using your brush or pencil, lightly stroke the area. If using a liquid liner, apply it in one smooth stroke. Apply less color so your eyes don't appear raccoonlike.
You may find eyeliner, particularly the liquid version, difficult and messy the first few times. Practice and have patience.
Wash brushes regularly with makeup remover or a mild gel shampoo.
Lining the inside of the lower lid is not recommended'it may cause eye infections, and it greatly increases the risk of getting makeup in your eye.

to make your eyes look bigger its best to place the eyeliner on top of your eyelashes. make a line right above the eyelashes. like the egyptians used to do.
for eye shadow, you could shade it certain areas to make the color come out more or to just make them more noticeable.
This question is my forte. Apply all your base make up first, concealer/foundation/powder or whatever you use. I don't know the color of your eyes, so the color of eye shadow depends on that. With that said:
1) Take a light eyeshadow (I use a cream color- like off white) and apply it to your eye lid as usual. Then apply the same color along your bottom lid.
2) Then take her eye liner and line the top- make the line thicker on the outside of your eye and draw it thinner as you go in towards your nose. Do the same for the bottom. Slightly thicker on the outsides and thinner as you go in (Best if you don't even apply eye liner to your ENTIRE bottom lid, instead start on the outsides and stop when your 2/3rds of the way in.)
3) Then take a darker eye shadow and apply it to the crease of your eye lid. This adds depth.
4) Add mascara and you're done!
This might seem overly long and complicated, but it takes me no more than 5 minutes to do. I get comments about my eyes almost daily and people have stopped me several times and asked me how to do eye make up.
If you have blonde hair/blue eyes use a light gold for the base eye shadow and a brown for the darker shade. Brown eye liner is the best. These colors make blue eyes really pop!
For brown hair/ brown eyes. Stick with neutral colors. Like a white or cream base and dark brown for the crease. (Hazel eyes look best if you use a plum color in the crease. It will bring out all the green specks, but it can be hard to make it look right for somewho doesn't use make up alot).
Tip: Never use the eye shadow applicator that comes with eye shadows! It will look to heavy and not blended at all. Use a bristle eye shadow brush always, your make up will blended. And stay clear of eye shadows that are shimmery! It looks cheap and only works SOMETIMES if you're really tan. Matted colors are the best 9 out of 10 times.
What I do is I put white eyeliner on the inner corners of my eyes and I only line the bottom half of my eye in black.
Just line the top only with black liner and black mascara only on top lashes. Lining both top and bottom tends to make eyes look smaller.
wear black eyeshadow. or dark grey. just make sure to put on eyeliner first, then take a brush and sort of close your eye but sweep the brush with black eyeshadow across your crevice where the bone ends and your eyeball begins. i really suck at describing things but i've done this for years and it really works. also, if you put white eyeshadow or something on top of the eyeliner line, it will make them look HUGE
The key to making your eyes look bigger is to line them on top, not underneath!
Your best bet is to use a liquid eyeliner and draw it as thin as possible. For eye shadow, you should use a darker shade of eyeshadow in the crease. The darker shade should complement and flow together with the shade you have on most of your eyelid. The darker color will give your eyes more depth. Good luck!
BRING OUT THE WHITES OF YOUR EYES. Draw a fine line with eyeliner along the upper lash line for definition. Line lower lids with a nude or very light color liner to make the whites of your eyes brighter and open them up. Curl lashes, add mascara and comb to separate for the maximum eyeopening effect.
Eyeliner can make even the smallest eyes appear larger. Applying it correctly is key, you don't want the line to be too dark, harsh and obvious or you risk looking overdone.
To make eyes appear wider, trace the inner rims of eyes with a white pencil.
Choose an eyeliner appropriate for your eye color. Brown, navy and charcoal accent light eyes well, while brown and plum shades flatter brown eyes. Make sure your liner complements the color of your shadow.
Consider the type of look you're after. Pencil eyeliner gives your eyes soft definition, while liquid versions offer precision and drama. You can also moisten dark eye shadow and apply it with a small, flat brush.
Draw a line across the upper lid just above the lashes, from the inside corner to the outside corner of the eye. If you're using liquid liner, allow it to dry before opening your eyes all the way, or the color may transfer into the crease of your eye.
Line the lower lids. Moving from the outside edge inward, draw a line on the outer two-thirds of the lid or more, depending on the look you're going for. Your line should be slightly thicker at the outside corner, becoming thinner as it moves in toward your nose. Using your brush or pencil, lightly stroke the area. If using a liquid liner, apply it in one smooth stroke. Apply less color so your eyes don't appear raccoonlike.
You may find eyeliner, particularly the liquid version, difficult and messy the first few times. Practice and have patience.
Wash brushes regularly with makeup remover or a mild gel shampoo.
Lining the inside of the lower lid is not recommended'it may cause eye infections, and it greatly increases the risk of getting makeup in your eye.

well what i do is i put my finger at the corner of my eye and then pull it back so it looks kinda wierd looking then i apply the eyeliner on top and apply it really close to my lashes so when i am applying it i can barley see it then when i let go of my eye, it looks like that. idk if this made sense to you hope it helped, or if were talking about the same thing!!

My best recommendation in regard to mascara would be to purchase either MAC's Plush Lash mascara, which assists in thickening as well as lengthening the lashes, or to use CoverGirl's Lash Blast mascara, which essentially does almost the same thing at a fraction of the cost of the MAC.
In regard to an eyeshadow, you can see this model has an almost nude shimmer eyeshadow on her eye. A great shadow in this category is MAC's Shroom eyeshadow. It is a very light satin finish, so it is not matte, and not super sparkly. It looks very pretty and like you're not trying so hard - just like the girl in this photo.
Additionally, remember that this picture is from a photo shoot, and is perfectly lit so that you can see the hazel stand out in her eyes. In real life, it's a lot harder for hazel eyes to 'pop' like this (I know, I've got 'em too!).
When I really want to show off the pretty color of my eyes, I use a plum-purple shadow, like MAC's Hepcat, or Cranberry eyeshadow just at the outer corner of my eye. You can get similar colors from your local drugstore if you want to conserve a little cash!

Lash blast-Walmart or drug store-$8.00
Or both
Go to a salon where they do eyelash dyeing. Don't do it yourself. The hair dye is a no no.
lash tinting is a great place to start. some new products out on the market to help grow lashes $$
fake lashes PLUS mascara

Okay, I don't think this sounds stupid, because I have the exact same problem and I try to do the same thing with my makeup since my eyes are very almond-y and sort of hooded. Since nobody seems to be giving any helpful answers, I'll share with you my success. If you put a darker color on your lid only, and then highlight your brow and crease, it sort of shadows your lid and puts an emphasis on your upper lid. Other than that, I really haven't acheived making my eyes looking more asian-y, but I'm sure there's a way.How do i make my eyes look more Asian ?

Take the eyeliner and make it come up in the corner of your eye. {the side farthest from your nose]
Well if you insist...you could try black liquid eyeliner. And bring it out past your eyes a little bit and curve up. Look in any magazine...you'll know what I'm talking about. Just google asian eyes or something like that and then go for it!

I used to have really dark brown eyes that have lightened up and turned somewhat greenish over the past few years. I prefered them dark brown though.
I have discovered that when I use green hues of eyeshadow, my eyes appear browner, and when I use purples or browns, my eyes appear greener.
There si really no way to ';lighten'; you eyes, but just play around with eyeshadow colors. That is really the only thing you can do.
And just for the record, I think dark brown eyes are stunning!
EDIT: And I see a lot of people are telling you colored contacts, but with dark brown eyes, colored contacts will only look weird and fake. those contacts only really work for people with light eyes.

I used to have really dark brown eyes that have lightened up and turned somewhat greenish over the past few years. I prefered them dark brown though.
I have discovered that when I use green hues of eyeshadow, my eyes appear browner, and when I use purples or browns, my eyes appear greener.
There si really no way to ';lighten'; you eyes, but just play around with eyeshadow colors. That is really the only thing you can do.
And just for the record, I think dark brown eyes are stunning!
EDIT: And I see a lot of people are telling you colored contacts, but with dark brown eyes, colored contacts will only look weird and fake. those contacts only really work for people with light eyes.

In order to make bigger eyes, apply a light eye shadow on the back of your eyes. I suggest Almay pink Satin. Then apply a white eye pencil around your eyes, then outside of the white line, apply your black pencil. Put mascara on. It doesn't have to be a lot, but whatever suites your need. Put eye shadow and eyeliner on.
get a new voluming mascara. and put a dark shade (brown or black) eyeliner on the top of the lash line , after you put on mascara. don't put the eyeliner on too thick and only apply it to where the lashes are, not in the middle of your eye. it will look beautiful, what color eyes do you have? a dark golden or purple always brings out eyes :)
You can use Maybeline Soft and Pretty Mascara, It makes your eyes look beautiful and full!

Great book, shows what colors look good on all types of skin coloring and what shades of eye shadow would look good. wear clothes that are your color because if it's the right color it'll make your eyes really bright. and don't put clods of mascara on, just enough to draw attention to your eyes.

Your problem is trying to force a smile, or certain 'look'. Relax, think of something pleasant, and just smile. If you tilt your head down slightly, then look towards the camera, your eyes will open up more naturally. Practice with a mirror or with your digital camera.

Try a little experiment. Take a full face photo of someone, and hold a mirror such that the face is divided in half. Then move the mirror so you see what appears to be a full face again. You will see that a symmetrical face looks almost freakish.

i worried about the SAME thing! our pediatrician told me that all babies have weak eye muscle control and that i would see a gradual change. the pediatrician said if our son was still doing a bunch of cross eyed things at 6 months they would have me consult with an Opthmologist BUT, he's 4 months old now and NEVER looks cross eyed- EVER!

How do you reduce swelling and make your eyes look normal after you've been crying alot?
Get a washrag and run ice cold water over it. Then hold it on your eyes for a few seconds. DO NOT use hot water. It will make them redder.

Don't use ice or anything like that.... it will damage the sensitive tissue of your eyes. Steep two chamomile (or other) tea bags in scalding hot water for about 1-2 minutes. Then remove from water and squeeze out the excess water and place in the freezer for 10 minutes. Remove from freezer and lie down with one on each eye for 15-20 minutes. This will drastically reduce the swelling and any blotchiness....How do you reduce swelling and make your eyes look normal after you've been crying alot?
wash your face with REALLY cold water
then put toilet paper/tissues with rose water or lotion on them
make sure you dont have too sensitive skin,
the lotion could be a little irritating, so not alot
