How can I do my mascara to make my eyes look smaller?

i have big eyes and i love them but sometimes i like the squinty-ish look on me...so i was wondering how i could do that with mascara?How can I do my mascara to make my eyes look smaller?
Huh? Why?! Most people want big eyes!





Well, when trying to make eyes smaller, stick to dark colours. (Dark shades create a closing effect which make eyes appear smaller). Go for shades of greys, charcoals, blacks, dark blue and deep purples





Eyeliner is another helpful tool in creating the illusion of smaller eyes. Carefully lining the entire eye will make them appear to recede, but in a good way. Go for dark colors when using eyeliner such as dark brown, navy or black, depending on your skin tone. The trick with using eyeliner effectively is to make sure that you don鈥檛 overdo it.





Liquid eyeliner tends to be too heavy in appearance, so stick to pencil eyeliner. You want the lines to be thick but not obvious- eyeliner is supposed to define your eyes, not be the main focus (remember you want to draw attention away from your large beautiful eyes). Line both your upper and lower rims, being careful to stay as close to the lash line as possible. Allow your eyeliner to meet at the upper and lower corners, which will create the closing effect. Apply mascara to the bottom lashes as well as the top to finish off the look.

Mascara is usually used to make the lashes look longer, which opens up the eyes and makes them appear bigger. But what would could do is get a mascara that makes them appear thicker, not longer. I like Covergirl Lash Blast (comes in an orange tube)





Also, to make eyes have that ';squinty'; look you want, use a dark eyeliner to liner your top, AND bottom, and try not blending it so much. this will give you a defined look, but it won't make your eyes look huge.

I have the same problem, I use eye shadow with a thin brush on the bottom of my eye right above the eyelash line - so it's almost inside the lid of my eye. Don't put any underneath the eyelash line and you can do the top of your eyes normally, with some eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow.
try putting it on the wrong way.. like, on the top of your top lashes, sweeping downwards and underneath your bottom ones sweeping upwards. i have big eyes too and it works for me.


also, black eyeliner all the way round does definitely help.
mascara wont really make a difference, but use as much as possible without making it look clumpy, and the eyeliner is really going to help alot. Apply eyeliner completely around your eye, even inside the corner.

or just do one swipe in the inner corners were it looks like you dont have any lashes

Aw, well, mascara is made to emphasize your eyes, to make the focus on them, so if you dont want the focus on them and your eyes smaller, simply dont put any on! :D

Not sure how to do it with mascara, but if you line the inner top lid with eyeliner, that reduces the size of your eyes.
